Based on the story of one man band, the themes that are portrayed in the story are vengeance and competition. Competition started when the two musicians competed to each other in order to have a little girl’s coin. They played many genre of music by using their instruments to attract the girl’s attention. In the beginning, their music was lovely to hear but it became in harmony at the end. It makes the girl scared. Finally, they stopped compete when the coin fall into the drain. Vengeance can be seen when the girl’s coin rolled down into the drain. She was mad because she lost the coin. She asked the musicians to return back her coin. However, none of them had a coin. Therefore, she asked a violin as compensation. Surprising, she can played the violin very well and gained a bag of gold coin from the donor. Then, she lures the musicians with two pieces of coin but turned them down by throwing the coins into the well.
